Less than a week before the 2015-16 National Hockey League season opened, Canada Post on October 1, 2015 issued six stamps honoring some of the finest goalies to play in the NHL between 1952 and 2015.

Canada Honors Women’s World Cup

On May 6, Canada Post previewed the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015, which was held from June 5 to July 6 in Canada and culminated with a United States victory over Japan. Canada welcomed the top 24 nations in a total
of 52 matches in six host cities: Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal and Moncton.

Canada Promotes Pet Care

On May 2 Canada Post issued a set of five stamps on the theme, “Love Your Pets.” The stamps were issued in booklets of 10 (2 of each design) and in a souvenir sheet with one of each stamp. The five stamp images are set against a blue sky background.

Jurassic World, Canada Style

— April 19, 2015 | Dinosaurs come to life on Canada Post Stamps

On April 9, long before the June 12 debut of the Jurassic World movie, Canada Post issued a set of five stamps and a souvenir sheet (shown) depicting prehistoric animals that once roamed Canada. Multilevel embossing and holographic foiling used in most of the designs add to the 3-D effect.

On January 30 Canada Post issued a stamp to commemorate the heroic life of Nelson Mandela, and celebrate the legacy of courage, determination and persistent hope he left behind. Diverse Canada Celebrates Lunar New Year

Canada Post welcomed the New Year with three different commemorative releases in January. First up, on January 6, was the seventh release in its current Lunar New Year 12-year cycle. The two stamps commemorate the Year of the Ram—“a time marked by creativity, caring, sensitivity and transforming misfortune into good luck.”
